Children & Young People

The North Somerset Children's Management Trust Board (CTMB) brings together representatives from a range of organisations working for the benefit of children and young people across the area.

The vision of the CTMB is that:

'North Somerset's children and young people are happy, healthy and safe and achieve their full potential, regardless of where they live. This is the keystone to their personal success and the contribution they make to their communities'.

The CTMB is committed to ensuring organisations work together and with children and young people to identify and meet the needs of children and young people across the five key outcomes under the 'Every Children Matters' agenda. These are:

• Be healthy
• Stay safe
• Enjoy and achieve
• Make a positive contribution
• Achieve economic wellbeing

The CTMB is one of the partnerships that support the North Somerset Partnership in delivery of the shared priorities of the North Somerset Sustainable Community Strategy. There are no specific chapters within the Strategy regarding children and young people as it was felt important that their issues are raised across all the shared priorities and with all the delivery partnerships. However, the CTMB will take a lead on the aims and improvements specific to children and young people whilst also contributing to and working with the other delivery partnerships where appropriate.
