2. Recommendations - The Changing Population
- All agencies need to be aware that the most recent projections show an even bigger population increase over the next 20 or so years than previously - up to 32% from 23%.
- However, one of the key assumptions behind this increase is the level of migration from Eastern Europe. It is unclear whether the current levels will be sustained and it is possible that the lower projections may be more realistic, given the changing economic situation.
- Agencies need to keep this level of uncertainty in mind whilst making future plans.
