Neighbourhood Management
Government has provided over £3.5m additional funding to be spent in Weston-super-Mare South Ward.
The funding was awarded for work in particular areas identified by the 2004 Indicies of Multiple Deprivation of the Department for Communities & Local Government (formerly the Office of The Deputy Prime Minister).
Funding is in two parts:
- Safer and Stronger Communities Fund - Neighbourhood Element. Almost £1.6m in revenue funding to be used over four years from April 2006 to improve quality of life for people in Weston-super-Mare South Ward and to ensure service providers are more responsive to neighbourhood needs
- Cleaner, Safer, Greener. £2.1m of capital funding to be used over two years from April 2006 to support improvement in the external environment, creating cleaner, safer and greener public spaces.
