Our vision for North Somerset in 2025 is:
- To have a well established, vibrant and varied cultural and recreational life for all our communities
- To have safe, accessible recreational places and opportunities for children and young people
- To have living environments which take account of the social and recreational needs of children and adults
- To work with partners in the West of England sub-region to develop and support tourist initiatives
- To encourgage local people to value and sustain our natural environment through direct access to the local countryside by foot, cycle and public transport.
Our priority objective is to:
- Develop a wide range of arts, entertainment, recreational and cultural opportunities.
Our progress:
A priority for the North Somerset Partnership is improving the health, well-being and general quality of life for everyone in the area. The development of the Go 4 Life Healthy and Active Lifestyles Strategy (pdf 1976k) is a central part of the partnership's vision.
The Go 4 Life scheme and Go 4 Life - Healthy & Active Lifestyles Strategy (pdf, 1980k) were launched on 3 July 2007 with a number of events, including a world record attempt. The Scheme aims to get people involved in activities they can pledge to do for 30 minutes, three times a week.
Getting involved:
Everyone can get involved in their community and help to improve quality of life, across North Somerset, for all.
