Stakeholder Event 2008

2008 poster

Over 120 representatives from a wide range of organisations attended the latest Stakeholder Event hosted by the north Somerset Partnership on 22 April 2008 at the Winter Gardens, Weston-super-Mare.

The Event saw the launch of 'Improving our communities together' the new North Somerset Sustainable Community Strategy 2008-2026.

Delegates received copies of the new Sustainable Community Strategy and were able to view displays about the consultation programme that had been undertaken to help shape the Strategy as well as information about the new Strategy.

There was an opportunity for participants to visit the Shared Priority Showcase where NSP partner organisations exhibited some of the work that is already happening  around the Shared Priorities.

After an opportunity to 'network' over tea and coffee delegates participated in a number of workshops.

Within each workshop there was a presentation on a project in North Somerset contributing to a particular Shared Priority.  Presentations included South Ward Neighbourhood Management Programme, Community Safety projects, a DVD about exercise for older people, Ready 4 Work, climate change and Transition Wrington.

Following the presentations delegates participated in a number of exercises in which they could consider how they and their organisations could contribute to delivery of parts of the Strategy.

We would like to thank all those who participated in the Event either as delegates or by providing display material and spending time talking with delegates about their work.
