Joint Strategic Needs Assessment - Update 2009
North Somerset Council and NHS North Somerset have been working together to produce an updated North Somerset Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) 2009.
The assessment identifies the current and future needs for health and social care services for all people in North Somerset. It uses the best available information and the views of local people and partner organisations.
Joint needs assessments have been undertaken in the past but the process was formalised in the Local Government and Public Involvement in health Act (2007).
The JSNA has considered a number of areas of work including:
- Changes in the local context since the 2008 Report
- The changing population
- North Someset Health Profile 2009
- Local Priorities
- NHS North Somerset Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment 2009-10
- The Children & Young People's Needs Assessment 2009
- Access to common procedures - health equity audits
- Findings from refreshed data
The JSNA will be an ongoing process and will be regularly updated.
