How are we doing?

The North Somerset Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) sets out our long-term vision for the area and outlines a number of aims and improvements we would like to see. The NSP Board, Executive and delivery partnerships all have their part to play in monitoring our progress against the SCS.

A key mechanism for delivering these aims is the Local Area Agreement (LAA) which includes a number of performance indicators and targets.

Our delivery partnerships are responsible for overseeing delivery of the SCS and LAA indicators and in addition are developing their own action plans to ensure wider delivery of the SCS.

We have developed a shared performance management framework for the SCS. The Executive and delivery partnerships will receive twice yearly monitoring reports on progress against the aims of the SCS, whilst the Board will receive an annual report on progress towards the long-term aspirations. The reports bring together data from all partners involved in delivery our shared priorities. 

Not only do we monitor our own progress, the Audit Commission have introduced a new Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) which measures how well local public agencies are working together to improve quality of life for local people. The first report was published in December 2009.
